Shanghai Breakfast, Dinner and Goodbye

Our favorite breakfast in shanghai is a street egg crepe and some xiaolongbao (syaow-long-bow as in take a bow)

This is us indulging one last time before departure.

For dinner we took the lonely planet suggestion and went to a place called shanghai grandmother. It was so nice we ate it twice! Here is our fish. (Whole, o course)

The fish and a pork belly dish were the best by far.

We took a final selfie or seven before leaving. Here are the best ones.

Part of why I love shanghai is that it is still kinda industry based, and nowhere is it more obvious than on the bund river. See the tanker below. These, and bigger, ships constantly navigate the channel.

Shanghai's other major industry is obviously tourism and shopping. This is Nanjing Lu - the famous pedestrian walking street where you can buy Chinese brands, American brands, and any kind of fake watch or handbag your heart desires. It's a constant mess and kinda fun.
By day:

And one last bund panorama & others for good measure.

And for the lulz - our favorite baby suit.

Now it's off to Thailand and siem reap for some temple biking. We love china and will be back soon, mark my words. The next adventure in the trip is taking Sri Lankan air from shanghai to Bangkok.

Sri Lankan airlines has clearly purchased used airbus a330s and lightly refurbished them.

And the ragged inside. They always give white people the bulkhead seats... Never fails and this trip was no different.

More from siem reap!
